You have a great attitude! Just continue working and your art will improve as you go. Rework old art only if it's really necessary, but beware -- it's a time trap if you allow it to be so.

One app that I really like to use to letter comics (as Manga Studio's lettering ability is ... lacking...to be kind) is ComicLife ( www.plasq.com ) It's not too expensive and has built in spellchecking (if your OS has it, that is) and comes with a number of good lettering, title and sound FX fonts. The biggest thing about it is that you can create custom styles that uses specific balloon outline and fill and fonts. And if you change (update) a style, it'll change all occurances of that style in your story. Just like changing a style in a word processor. It can handle large page counts well -- especially if you select use reference in the prefs, which will enable CL to "refresh" the source images if you make changes on the art. You can create panels and the word balloons will clip to them. 

ComicLife can be a bit tricky to use at first, once you're used to it -- lettering can be so easy and fast. It allows for a limited time demo. So you can try it before buying.

One great feature it has is the ability to export as a PDF or CBZ file in addition to separate image files (great for online webcomics). And it prints out to printers really well in black and white or color.
